What exactly are APK files and why is there a necessity
apk store? APK files aim at smartphones including android phones. They’re app files, and could be used to install applications on mobile devices.

The most popular smartphones these days are, obviously, Android phones. Applications can be downloaded into these phones through a channel called the Android Market. Android Market, a web site owned by Google, can be a marketplace that distributes smartphone apps.

Sometimes, for reasons uknown, smartphone owners are not able to download apps from the Market. For instance, some models usually are not supported by the marketplace, so users can’t login and download directly. But this does not mean how the phone is incompetent at running applications. Here is where APK files are available in.

APK programs are very application files. In Windows, many of us are familiar with executable (EXE) files. They function in a similar way. When you click an APK file, you might be launching the installer for the application. The app may then be installed directly on the device. So if you can’t access the Android Market for some reason, in that case your only choice is to look elsewhere.

Obviously, for security reasons, you need to only install these files from trusted sources. Before installing, ensure your have modified your settings to permit app installations from unknown sources. So how can you find reliable app. files?

Such files can be created by making a backup of existing apps. Most free apps that are offered publicly can be backed up into an APK file. The file will then be re-distributed to be installed on other smartphones. Some developers release APK installers for your benefit of all users. These files are generally released in apps-related blogs and forums. There is also a lot of APK installers in developer forums.

How you can install APK files.

Step one: Download the APK files in your PC or maybe your SD card. Should you download it for your PC, transfer it to your SD card.

2: Use your file browser (e.g. ASTRO file manager) to locate the APK file and then click it. The installer will run. See the required permissions before proceeding.

Step three: The app. should easily be installed successfully in your smartphone and you will use it like all other app.

Sometimes, an app may be updated, causing the smartphone to crash. Which means that the updated app is no longer usable. Since you can’t revert back to the older version (there isn’t any option to do that), you will be forced to uninstall the brand new app and look for the old version. Even though you may have access to the Android market, the existing version will no longer be around. This is the time to request or look for an APK file.
